On Tuesday, Davis Mills received an unexpected visitor.

That would be UGA offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who took in the 4-star quarterback’s practice ahead of Greater Atlanta Christian’s (Norcross) playoff bout with Pace Academy this Friday. It marked the first time the Bulldogs had reached out to Davis since fellow 2017 quarterback Bailey Hockman committed to the program over the summer.

Mills, the No. 6 quarterback in next year’s class, is weighing offers from several programs, including Stanford, UCLA and Michigan. However, he has yet to report an offer from the Bulldogs. UGA has already offered four quarterbacks in 2017, though only one has committed.

Could UGA be closing in on offering Mills? That remains to be seen. But in light of the recent news surrounding Jacob Eason, the staff could very well be forming a contingency plan of its own.
